RAP is an organization dedicated to creating a vehicle for people in recovery to speak out on substance abuse issues.By empowering individuals to speak out, RAP encourages recovery with programs which will directly address the needs of the community and improve their chances of success.
1999 obtained a commitment from Multnomah County for $550,000 to conduct a campaign targeted at the Hepatitis C at-risk population with outreach, education, testing and vaccination.
In 2000, RAP was instrumental in obtaining rent subsidies for 30 alcohol and drug free community (ADFC) housing units from Multnomah County and $300,000 for rent subsidies for ADFC housing from the City of Portland.
In 2006, RAP led a group of social organizations in Clackamas County to increase funding for transitional housing and mentoring for men being released from prison.The result was an initial investment of $500,000.The program was so successful that, in 2007, the county increased funding to $700,000.
